I’m going to explain to you the surgery that I’m getting ready to have which is a hair transplant or hair transplantation. And I want to talk about what the procedure is about, and why I’m having this procedure.
I plan on documenting the before surgery, pre-op surgery and post-operative surgery. I’m not going to film the actual surgery so, but I want to do a series, maybe 10 minutes long or less. Just so I can document and help others to understand what they are going to go through if they decide to have hair transplantation.
Okay, first of all, I got a read this out here. What is hair transplantation and surgery. Basically, it’s, what I’m having is Follicular unit micro grafting and it’s a permanent hair transplantation surgery. Normally, this procedure is performed for hair loss, receding hair and it’s performed on male and female. Females may tend to, their hair may tend to thin out here. Men will have receding hair line, what I have on both sides, or balding. Now, hair transplantation or hair transplant do not stop you from permanently or continuously losing your hair over time, but it, but the transplants are permanent. They don’t die, they normally don’t fall out or anything like that.
So, what I’m having is follicular unit micro grafting. Now, there are three reasons why I’m having this done. First of all, okay, I’m 40 – - I’ll be 44 in two months. When I was – - I started receding, my hair started receding on the temples when I was about 35 years old. So it’s slowly, slowly over a period of 10 years been receding. I’m doing it because, my hair is receding. I did have some hair plugs, 5 years ago and I really didn’t care about continuing the series of treatments t o – - for the hair plugs. So I stopped doing those after the treatment. Now, I also have scars that I want to cover up from previous cosmetic surgeries. So, let me go ahead and show you what I’m going to have done so you can see the before and then I’ll explain how they’re going to do this procedure.
Receding Hair Lines Suck My Forehead
Okay, as you can see, I’m going to pull my hair back here. I am receding here, let me get a mirror, I’m receding here on the – - the temples. Now if you look real closely, you can see where I went through one treatment of hair plugs. You might see little scattered hairs there and I would have had to go through a 5, probably a 5 good treatments of hair plugs and I just didn’t feel like that was what I wanted to do, after doing it the first time. So again, on this side, you can see. And my hair line, a little bit, right here, starting to recede. So, they’re going to fill this in. They’re going to come here and fill this in. Now, also, talking about the scars. I had outer facelift here when I turned 40, and it left some scarring right there. The doctor cut me there, moved – - lifted the skin up, pulled this together but it left a little scar on both sides. So the hair transplant is going to come in and it’s going to fill those – - fill the scar in with hair. It’s going to come around and fill this in, like around this area. All that. Come up here and fill all this in and down to here.
Receding Hair Lines Yeah Baby
Now also, when I – - a few year back, I had a brow lift and I have a little, well, you can’t see it, but I got a little bald spot right there. So anyways, the doctor is going to – Okay, again this is called a follicular – - now I look a little weird now – - but I wanted to share to you – - so all this hair – - I look really good at 40, I can tell you that – - So, the doctor that I’m going to is – - to do my hair transplantation, his name is Dr. Jerry E. Colie. He’s a medical doctor and he’s located in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Carolina Dermatology Center. And Dr. Jerry E. Colie is certified with the American Board of Dermatology. So what they are – - what the doctor is going to do, he’s going to take a donor strip. He’s going to use my hair from the back of my head and he’s going to transplant it in here, and fill all this in with my own hair. But he’s going to have to go back here at the back of my head and he’s going to – - he’s literally going to cut a strip of donor’s skin out. He’s going to strip a skin, probably about this long, and he’s going to have hairs in it. He’s goin to cut that out like a swath of skin, sew it together, he’s going to send it to the lab. While it’s in the lab, I’m going to sit and watch two movies, probably about 3 hours, while the skin goes under a microscope. They are going to cut that skin up, then, they are going to bring it back up to the OR room and he’s going to meticulously, slowly, painstakingly put the hair follicles in my hair, the natural way your hair grows. So, he’s going to come in and start plugging, punching, punching, punching – so I’m going to have a bunch of red dots all through here.

And that’s what’s going to happen in two days from now. If you want to see more about the documentation of how I’m healing – - I’m also going to do another about pre-op – - How I prepare for the pre-op, what you talk about during consultation. But right now, I just want to go ahead and document a before of what is going to happen and hopefully, it would be very successful and I can enjoy – - you know, wearing my hair on the side. You know, I want to be able to wear my hair again on the side, like I used to years ago, when I was in my 20s of course – I cannot make my hair to do it right. But, obviously, I can wear my hair on the side and all this will be filled in. And I’ll be very happy with that.
